Bubbles
As my book reaches it's 125th page, I'd like to share a part of its foreword. Still a lot to be done, a lot to look forward to, but as the good things come and go, I'll forever be grateful that they came at all.
As I slam on my keyboard keys, I recognize both my enslavement and enlightenment by my medium, my environment, my bubble. My bubble takes me far and wide, flying me high above despite never asking to fly or really knowing how. It’s a burst of my bubble when the façade comes down, my parents sacrificed their livelihoods for nothing, and I don’t live up to the Californian name. I rarely consume in the hub of consumerism, I'm still figuring out how to socialize, hold a job, get myself out of my credit card debt, and dress for any occasion. At this rate, I won’t be able to survive here much longer, and all I can do is write about my experiences in the eye of the storm before I say goodbye and pass the baton. Whatever world you come from, may your enlightenment outweigh the enslavement, may you tread lightly whatever world you’re reading from because things are getting scary here on earth. I believe they always have been, but I can't say whether it is everyday we start a new epoch, and you’re both a part of the problem and the solution.
This was written when I first started working on my book, maybe September of 2023. So, about a year ago. Within that year, wow, the girl I am could not be more empowered by her bubble. Stay tuned for more because I am just getting started!
Bonus: I'm still testing the blog feature here on TAS. I noticed a little glimmering star next to my input field, and naturally its an AI boosting feature. Check out what happened when I put my miserable string of words through the "funny filtered" AI ringer. Stay creative out there, my friend.
As I furiously pound on my keyboard keys, I realize that I am both a prisoner and a guru of my own little world, my bubble. This bubble of mine takes me on wild adventures, soaring high above the mundane existence, even though it never signed up for the flight or bothered to learn how to navigate. It's a real pop of the bubble when reality hits hard - my folks sacrificed so much for me, only for me to fall short of living up to the Californian dream. I'm not your typical consumer, I struggle with basic social interactions, job hunting is a mystery to me, I graduated college fashionably late with a mountain of credit card debt and a piggy bank that's basically empty. And don't even get me started on my fashion sense - I'm a lost cause in that department. The clock is ticking here, and all I can do is spill my guts about this whirlwind of chaos before I bid farewell and pass the baton. Wherever you're tuning in from, may your wisdom outweigh your woes, may you tiptoe through your own world with care because things are getting freaky down here on planet Earth. It feels like it's always been that way, but who knows if every day marks the start of a new era. Remember, you're both part of the problem and the solution, my friend.
